Ujjain + Omkareshwar 2-Day Tour: 2 Jyotirlingas, One Trip
Two Jyotirlingas, one weekend. Here's how thousands of devotees combine Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar in a perfectly paced 2-day trip.

Distance & route overview
Ujjain to Omkareshwar is 140 km (3.5 hours) via Indore on NH-47. A private cab is the most comfortable option; shared taxis from Indore are cheap but slow.
Day 1 — Ujjain (Mahakaleshwar)
Reach Ujjain by night of Day 0. Day 1 starts with Bhasma Aarti at 4 AM, followed by Kal Bhairav, Harsiddhi, Ram Ghat, Sandipani and Mangalnath. Sandhya Aarti at Mahakal at 7 PM. Overnight in Ujjain.
Day 2 — Drive to Omkareshwar
Leave Ujjain by 6:00 AM. Reach Omkareshwar by 9:30 AM. Take the boat across the Narmada to Mandhata island where the Jyotirlinga sits. Darshan + parikrama of the island takes ~3 hours.
Don't miss at Omkareshwar
Mamaleshwar temple (the second linga across the river per some traditions), Siddhanath temple, the 24 Avatar carvings, and sunset over the Narmada Sangam — one of the most beautiful sights in India.
Where to stay
In Ujjain: Anjushree, Imperial Sarovar, or Hotel Shipra Residency. In Omkareshwar: MPT Narmada Resort or Sankalp Bhakti Dham (budget). Most devotees prefer staying in Ujjain both nights and doing Omkareshwar as a day trip.
